STEWARDSHIP SEASON 2026                           Theme:  “Bless Forward.  Jesus’ DNA For His Future.”  

Key Verse:  One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4 NIV

Core Message:  See and hear what God is doing in our midst. God is transforming lives. Notice the changes and realize – “This is God!”  He is blooming the Spiritual DNA He has implanted in us.  What is this “Spiritual DNA?” How are we to bless this forward?

From Rhonda Miller:

I am looking for a lead for Whiz Kids Kitchen on Tuesdays. I have cooked for the Whiz Kids and Unplugged program(s) for quite a few years. It is more than handing the kids a plate of food and sending them on their way to the table to eat. You get to see the interactions between them and their friends as well as them with the crew. The joy in their faces as they come together to eat a snack, play a game (if the weather does not permit them to go outside), and do a craft with Ms. Leila is worth it all. The appreciation for the dinner comes not only from the kids but the crew as well. You learn what they like to eat as well as what barely anyone will eat. A few of their favorite things to have are pizza or corndogs with fries (of course) and cupcakes for dessert. They have nicknamed me “The cupcake lady”.

The duties of the kitchen include:

Asking for a volunteer(s) to provide a meal once a month (if possible) or food to cook and/or a dessert                         

Ask others to help serve/be a backup for you

Making a monthly schedule for the meals being provided/food/dessert

Setting the tables with the snack (provided by Mad River), water pitchers, cups, and napkins—ketchup/mustard and silverware (if needed)

Cooking and serving the meal/Taking Unplugged food downstairs

If there are a lot of leftovers, make up to go boxes for those who would like one or give to a Whiz Kids family

Clear off tables of unused cups, napkins, and water pitchers

Wash dishes and put them away

Wipe off counters, stoves, and table (in kitchen)

** It seems like a lot, however, you would need to recruit others to help because someone is waiting to be asked. Also, I will be there to help in any way I can. You will never have to cook/serve by yourself.                                 > Anyone interested must have a background check, complete a 1 hour Child Protection training, and go through and sign our Child Protection Policy.

5 HEART GIVING PRINCIPLES

Jesus DNA:  Jesus came to live inside of you when, forgiven of your sins, the Holy Spirit literally came on in. Jesus is actively working you into his love, ways, and purposes -- His DNA.

Principle 1:  IT’S ALL GOD’S.  A foundational reality for your Jesus DNA to take hold of head and heart, and for your life to settle into God right order is this:  Realize that all that you are and all that you have is because God is and has given it to you.

Principle 2:  STINGY WITH GOD.  God’s truth in love to you is this:  when you are stingy about investing in God's priorities for your life, you will not take your Jesus DNA more to heart and life.

Principle 3:  GOD’S EXPECTATIONS.  We put a lot of self-centered expectations on God well beyond what he has promised.  The real question is, “What does God expect from me?” With Jesus DNA in you, what is your life intended to produce?

Principle 4:  UNSTUCK.  Your next "oh no" is God's invitation for you to go to Him and others -- and to exercise the DNA, letting the Jesus DNA take hold of your heart and life a little more.  

Principle 5:  GET REAL.  Exercising faith into faithful action, you will become more real. You're letting God get you real - you are taking to heart and living from your Jesus DNA.  You are further letting go of the fake you and letting God bring out the real you – His child!

OUTREACH TO THE HOMELESS AND MEN’S SHELTER:  Fourth Saturdays from 12noon-4:00pm. Come and join any Saturday they meet. The next Outreach is this Saturday October 24.

KINGDOM MAN – Saturdays at 10:00am at Community.  Welcome men of all ages.

UNPLUGGED  Tuesdays at 3:45

WHIZ KIDS TUESDAYS @ 2:45. Prayers for a good year for the kids and leaders. Please contact Claire if you are interested in being a mentor. Contact Rhonda if you are interested in taking over the lead for Whiz Kids on Tuesdays.

I had a wonderful week off in Florida. I just got back yesterday and today, I hit the ground running! Lots going on around here and I am so glad to be a part of it. Even while I am gone you all are in my prayers and on my mind. I hated to miss the Senior Picnic yesterday, but from the pictures I received, it looked like an amazing event. Thank you Marsha for all you do to take care of so many around here. Thank you to those of you who brought food and helped set up, serve and clean up.

This Sunday is a the day we are having a carry-in. Please bring something, no matter how small, to contribute and then think about helping set up, serve and/or clean up. Many hands make light work!
